Vining and Freestone celebrate a Savy Sandown weekend
Sandown’s Round 6 of the Touring Car Masters welcomed fresh faces onto the podium with young-gun William Vining, and experienced racer, Paul Freestone, taking their Savy Motorsport prepared entries to weekend successes. Vining secured his maiden podium result after just six events with his Thunder Road Racing Australia Mustang, while Freestone continued a history of strong Sandown performances, taking the Pro-Amateur class honours in his Freestone’s Roadhaven Camaro.
Vining’s first competitive outing at Sandown Raceway came with a confidence, recent tests having evidenced a continual improvement in both vehicle and driver performance. Mustang ‘Jenny’ has become a strong race package, while Vining’s experience and confidence continue the steep learning curve under the pressure of Masters competition.

As the days until Round 2 of the Masters tick down, the days of track and seat experience for Touring Car Masters rookie William Vining-Falvey are on the up, with a first successful test day of his Mustang machine checked d off at Winton Raceway yesterday.
Vining-Falvey is certainly the most inexperienced racer in the strong Masters field, but that hasn’t stopped the series’ young--gun putting it all on the line, having made his d debut in the Don Dimitriadis owned Mustang Coupe at the season opener last month having had little more than 20 minutes at the wheel of the stunning #98 entry.
